Custom clothing and patterns for children!
I opened my shop on Etsy seven years ago. I have always loved fabric, designing and sewing. My mother and grandmothers made their own patterns, sewed everything from dresses to home items and drapes. While they were busy completing projects I was always given fabric, thread and needle to sew "my" creations. I kept a stash of pretty fabrics to sew starting around three years old and have been sewing since childhood.
I have attended many sewing schools learning techniques from well known Sewing Designers. In addition I attended several sessions at Martha Pullen's School of Art Fashion in Huntsville, AL. A great inspiration to me and starting my own Custom Design Sewing Business. I have sketched, drawn items to sew for a very long time and started making gifts and items for family and friends. I discovered Etsy, made contacts and the orders started to come in regularly. I made a lot of clothes based on certain patterns, but always added my own touches, fuller skirt, different sleeve, a pocket added and from those experiences came up with my own patterns. Children come in all sizes and sizing of patterns may not fit the thinner, thicker, taller shorter child, so I want my garments to be the length and body size of the child I am sewing. As my business grew, I was able to buy an established PDF Pattern Business and now offer many patterns for purchase. I am updating techniques, revising instructions making new garments and pictures. There are not enough hours in the day to complete all my daily goals. For me designing and sewing is the best therapy in the world motivating me always to do more and reach for my dream!!
